This is a MUST before you buy a home or rental property.

Did you know termite damage costs U.S. property owners more than $5 billion each year and that around 600,000 homes are affected by these pests?

Not everyone likes surprises, so before the deal is done, trust the experts at Atkins to conduct a thorough home termite inspection and provide a report for your client. The last thing you need is for your sale to go south.

What we do.

Our trained termite “detectives” conduct a visual inspection of all accessible areas, concentrating on exposed structural members, door facings, baseboards, window sills, etc.

We’re kind of like the CSI’s of the termite world.

The exterior foundation is also inspected along with areas that are near or have direct contact with soil. Attached structures are included in the inspection and a standard NPMA-33 form is filled out upon completion of the inspection.

Why you need a termite inspection report.

You already know the answer. A home termite inspection is required by most lending institutions before the purchase of a house. Many times, general home inspectors are qualified to perform the termite inspection, but it is better for your client to call Atkins.

We’re kind of a big deal.

Our team of certified technicians has more than 40 years of combined experience in trained termite detection, specifically looking for live termites and the evidence they can leave behind. Also, if termite activity is found, we can offer a solution to fix the problem.

Sean Chase, Dustin Wood and Michael Beier. Just a few of our certified pest technicians.

How much does a termite inspection cost?

If the property is within 45 minutes of Columbia, it’s $50. Outside of that? It’s $75-$100.

What to do next.

We have a team of Associate entomologists on staff waiting to hear from you. Call (573) 874-5100 or go online at  atkinsinc.com  to set up an appointment.

Don’t have termites?

Spring brings all the creepy crawlers out. In addition to termites, fleas, ticks and bed bugs all start to make their presence know.

When you see a bug or something that doesn’t look quite right, give us a call or fill out a form online and we’ll come out free of charge to walk around your home, inside and out. We will offer you the best recommendation based on the type of pests we find.

When I first started with Atkins, I used to try to figure out how many steps I took or how many miles I walked pushing a fertilizer spreader or dragging a hose around to spot treat for weeds. Seems like on average, I walked around 7 to 8 miles most every day. Talk about good exercise! Nowadays, we have better equipment that helps save your legs and apps on our phones or watch to keep track of our steps for us. Gotta love technology!
