Our Team of Excellent Women

Beth Kaiser • Feb 25, 2020

There’s an old saying that says “ it takes a village to raise a child .”

Those of us who are parents can agree that it often requires an entire network of people to come together to achieve a mission or a goal, but this mindset isn’t just about kids anymore. It’s about communities, business and finding ways for people to come together.

Here at Atkins, it takes a team of hard-working and dedicated employees to serve the customers we are proud to call our friends and neighbors.

This week, Atkins is proud to be a supporting sponsor of the 2020 COMO Women of Excellence Awards , and we want to recognize some of the incredible women here at Atkins who get things done !

Vicki – Customer Service

When you call Atkins, there’s a 50% chance Vicki will be the voice on the other line. Vicki is part of the Pest Control Team. She’s been with Atkins since 2017 and has more than 15 years of customer service experience.

Vicki

Kate – Human Resources Director.

Kate

Kate has been the Atkins Human Resources goddess for the last three years.

Human Resources isn’t always an easy job, so why does Kate do what she does?

“Our employees inspire me ,” she said. “ They are dedicated, hard workers who love their jobs and do it with a smile on their face.”

Melanie – Controller

Melanie

Coordinating all accounting functions for a company may not sound like a lot of fun, but Melanie has been hard at it for almost two years. She’s responsible for managing supplier and customer accounts, including billing and payments, communicating financial information with the owners and division managers and putting out any fire that may come her way. Way to go, Melanie!

Beth – Commercial Business Development Manager

Beth

Beth began her career at Atkins in the Fall of 2018 where she worked closely with the managers in the company’s janitorial division assisting with quality control inspections. Now in the Turf & Tree, Irrigation and Pest Control divisions, she spends a lot of her time finding new ways to grow the business.

“Every day is something different, and I LOVE that! ” said Beth. “ Being a small company means I get to wear many hats, so not only do I support the division directors in finding new leads, but I also manage our social media and community outreach efforts.”

Amber , Patty and Danielle – Commercial Cleaning Services

As the largest division of the company in regards to employee count, our Commercial Cleaning Division is lead by three women who know how to go with the flow and make the most out of a sticky situation, literally.

In our Columbia branch, Patty and Danielle are responsible for training and managing their team of employees. In Springfield, we’re proud to have Amber representing the company and helping us grow our business in the Ozarks.

This group of ladies also works with our customers to ensure their expectations are met and their buildings are clean.

Fun fact: Amber has the most organized janitorial closets in her clinics!

One of the things we love to do as a company is get together and celebrate and recognize our employees.

Clair, Kate and Beth taking a break at the Atkins Annual Chili Cook-Off – Fall 2019.

Each Summer and Fall, we host events to recognize employees and show them appreciation for a job well done. At our annual employee chili cook-off, any employee can submit their recipe for a chance to win. Attending employees also win prizes just for showing up!

In the winter, we get together for a holiday party for a lot of fun and great food! Here’s a few photos from this past year’s event!

THANK YOU to all of the excellent women who represent Atkins! We couldn’t do it without you!

When I first started with Atkins, I used to try to figure out how many steps I took or how many miles I walked pushing a fertilizer spreader or dragging a hose around to spot treat for weeds. Seems like on average, I walked around 7 to 8 miles most every day. Talk about good exercise! Nowadays, we have better equipment that helps save your legs and apps on our phones or watch to keep track of our steps for us. Gotta love technology!
