Employee Spotlight: Bryan Andrews

Congratulations, Bryan, on your 11th anniversary with Atkins! ! If you’ve had any tree work done around your home or business, you may have seen him around.

Bryan has more than 20 years of experience in the “green” industry with positions related to turf management, landscaping, tree and shrub care, viticulture, holiday lighting, grounds maintenance and customer service. He has a passion for detail, creativity, a great work ethic and is a natural leader.

Q: What’s your title at Atkins, Inc.?
A: I’m an arborist.

Q: What does a typical day look like for you?
A: It really depends on the season. This time of year, I stay busy servicing our client’s trees and shrubs. Currently, I am treating them for insect and disease issues.

Q: What are some of the different roles you’ve had throughout your 11 years with the company?
A: I’ve had many roles within the company except for our pest and commercial cleaning services. I am so thankful for the experiences and knowledge I have acquired over the years.

Q: What is something you like to do when you’re not at work?
A: Playing golf.

Q: If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
A: I would like to learn to fly a military fighter jet.

When I first started with Atkins, I used to try to figure out how many steps I took or how many miles I walked pushing a fertilizer spreader or dragging a hose around to spot treat for weeds. Seems like on average, I walked around 7 to 8 miles most every day. Talk about good exercise! Nowadays, we have better equipment that helps save your legs and apps on our phones or watch to keep track of our steps for us. Gotta love technology!
